Precinct Groups
The Precinct Group Support Program (est 1994, as the Local Area Development Program) supports the sustainability and management of City precinct groups and fosters local participation in community-based projects and activities.
The Precinct Groups are:
● Adelaide West End Association
● City South Association
● East End Coordination Group
● Gouger Street Traders Association
● Grote Business Precinct
● Hutt Street Precinct Association
● Melbourne Street Group
● O’Connell Street Traders Association
The Program supports the precinct groups in developing and undertaking activities that add to the vibrancy of local precinct areas and encourage and build local communities. Council currently allocates $172,000 for the Program. A grant of $20,900 is provided under the guidelines of the Program to assist the groups to manage and deliver activities which align to one or more of Council’s Population Growth target areas.
Program Objectives
The Program ensures that well maintained, active and representative groups are sustained within the City of Adelaide, and provides each group with operational funding to assist with administration and groups’ sustainability.
