The Adelaide City Council’s 2011–12 Business Plan and Budget sets the City’s direction and priorities for the next 12 months.
Developed in consultation with the community, the plan represents Council’s strategy for a vibrant, populous and sustainable Capital City built upon Adelaide’s heritage and lifestyle.

Council's Priorities
Council is committed to the growth and improvement of your city and some of the key priorities for 2011–12 include:
● The progression of major public realm projects such as Victoria Square/Tarndanyangga and Rundle Mall.
● Continuing the drive for increased population in the central area of the City.
● Creating an outstanding city of distinctive and exciting design complemented by heritage preservation.
● Increasing protection and assistance for restoring and so capitalising on Adelaide’s unique heritage and character.
● Ensuring an accessible and connected city and developing all forms of transport including public transport, private vehicles, pedestrian and cycling.
● A commitment to a economically prosperous Capital City.
● Supporting the City’s creativity, recreation, cultural and artistic activity, and exciting events to promote a culturally vibrant city.
● A strong focus on environmental sustainability strategies.
● Investing in and delivering quality services such as city cleansing to ensure the City is presented to an exemplary standard.
● Prudent financial management to ensure the financial sustainability of Council services.
● Continuation of reviews of Council’s corporate services to achieve further efficiencies and greater effectiveness.
