Megan Hender

Central Ward Councillor

Councillor Hender was elected as a Central ward Councillor for the Adelaide City Council 2010–2014 term. She has been appointed to the Reconciliation Committee, Committee for Emergency Risk Management and as proxy for the Audit Committee.

Megan has lived and worked in the city for over 20 years and raised her family within the city square mile. She is a lawyer by training but has had a number of careers—working as a solicitor, a university lecturer and a manager in a law firm. Megan now runs a small city based consulting business and sits on the board of the Adelaide Convention Centre. Megan is passionate about the city, has been active in her local community for many years and is past president of the City South Association.

Megan believes in protecting the Park Lands, good management for the Central Market, solid compliance with planning regulation, preserving built heritage, improving the city's green credentials and maintaining respect for residents.
