Pedal Prix Parking

Adelaide City Council has reviewed the parking arrangement for this weekend’s HPV Pedal Prix Super following community feedback and will now enter into discussions with the organisers in relation to parking charges for future events.

Parking will now be offered at $7.50 on Saturday and Sunday in the area adjacent Fullarton Road in Victoria Park / Bakkabakkandi.

“We recognise this is a family and community event, which is why we asked the event organisers for feedback on the new charges 3 months ago.

nfortunately, they did not respond at this time and we were therefore unaware of their concerns,” said Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood.  

“We have now reduced the parking charge to $7.50, which is commensurate with on-street parking charges in the surrounding areas.”    

“I want to make it clear that this wasn’t a ‘cash grab’ – Council has invested millions in rejuvenating Victoria Park and other parts of the Park Lands and it is reasonable that the money raised from car parking at events, such as the Pedal Prix, goes to both remediating the Park Lands after events and into upgrading of our Park Lands for the benefit of the whole community.”

“Let’s now focus on this fantastic event – not the parking.”

Please note: parking on the Park Lands will only be permitted in fine weather conditions.
