Peter Smith
Chief Executive Officer
Before assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer at Adelaide City Council, Peter was the Deputy Chief Executive of the South Australian (SA) Department for Families and Communities (DFC), a position he held since February 2005.
Prior to this role, Peter was the National Manager Service Delivery Strategy for Centrelink, a position he held for almost two years before relocating to South Australia.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from Charles Sturt University, and a Master of Business Administration from MGSM, Macquarie University.
Michael Sedgman
General Manager
Michael is a Fellow of CPA Australia, holds a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Commercial Law and has extensive experience as a senior executive with expertise in strategic financial management and corporate governance in a range of roles in both the private and public sectors.
Before joining Adelaide City Council in June 2006, Michael provided business consulting services to organisations in the public and not for profit sectors, and held senior roles with the City of Yarra, the City of Port Phillip, City West Water and Email Metals Distribution Group.
Michael's achievements since joining the Adelaide City Council have centred on the development and implementation of a performance management system aligned to the strategies and planned outcomes of Council and the development of a service improvement model based on best practice principles to objectively review service performance standards, resourcing and delivery of all Council services.
Michael has a strong personal commitment to excellence in organisational governance and the delivery of quality services to the community and regards his role as an opportunity to make a contribution to the achievement of these goals by Adelaide City Council.

Debra Just
General Manager
She possesses a strong executive leadership background, having most recently been the General Manager Strategy & Policy at the City of Onkaparinga. Prior to the City of Onkaparinga , Debra provided strategic planning advice to Happy Valley, Munno Para, Tea Tree Gully and Burnside councils.
Debra possesses a Master of Arts in Applied Planning, a Bachelor of Arts in Biogeography & Ecology and a Diploma in Education from the University of Adelaide. She has strategic leadership experience and a strong background in local government.
