Community Development Grants

Council provides funding to ensure the provision of essential social services and community building activities within the City and to ensure that the provision of programs, services, activities and events in the City reflect the principles of community development and reconciliation. Funds are also provided so City-based community organisations to participate in and make a positive contribution to the City.

The Community Development Grants Program has five funding categories as follows:

1. Strategic Partnership Grants - Up to $50k (Only Round 1):

Funding to be provided to selected strategic partners specifically for services and programs that address social inclusion, health, well-being and housing issues for homeless and other marginalised groups in the City.

2. Community Grants - Up to $5k:

The provision of limited financial support to community organisations, groups and clubs for the provision of one-off activities, events or programs that incorporate the principles of community development and engage with the local community.

3. Reconciliation Grants - Up to $5k:

The provision of limited financial support to community groups and organisations for city based activities and events that incorporate the objectives of Adelaide City Council's reconciliation agenda and the principles of community development.

4. Reconciliation Strategic Partnerships – Up to $20k (Only Round 1):

The provision of funding support to community groups and organisations for City-based reconciliatory activities and events that address social inclusion, as well as promote, celebrate and strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural understanding and integration by the wider community.

5. Emergency Fund Grants – Up to $1k:

For groups that target the most disadvantaged members in the community, offer a proposal with a preventative element that provides basic health, welfare and social support services and demonstrate the immediate nature of this request.

How to Apply

Please see the application process outlined in the 2012-2013 Sponsorship, Grants and Incentives Handbook to apply for funding. Then complete the relevant Application Form within the required timeframe and in accordance with instructions in the Handbook.
