Recreation & Sport Grants

Council provides funding to eligible clubs, groups and organisations to offer a diverse and interesting range of opportunities for the community to be active and participate in recreation and community sports programs/events and to improve the provision of recreation and sport facilities within the City.

The Recreation and Sport Grants Program has three funding categories as follows:

1. Strategic Partnership Grants - Up to $20k (Only Round 1):

Funding is provided to selected strategic partner/s specifically for the development and delivery of recreation or sport programs that enable Council to create a Culturally Vibrant City and offer opportunities for the community to be active and maintain their health and wellbeing.

2. Facilities Grants - Up to $50k:

Funding to be provided to educational institutions and non-profit recreation and sport organisations to improve recreation and sport facilities in the City that are owned or under the care and control of Council. Total contribution by the applicant must be greater or equal to the amount applied for.

3. Community Programs and Events Grants - Up to $8k:

Funding to be provided to non-profit recreation and sport organisations/groups to deliver recreation and sport events or programs that create a Culturally Vibrant City and deliver opportunities for the community to be active and maintain their health and wellbeing. Total contribution by applicant ($ or in-kind) must be greater or equal to the amount being applied for.

How to Apply

Please see the application process outlined in the 2012-2013 Sponsorship, Grants and Incentives Handbook to apply for funding. Then complete the relevant Application Form within the required timeframe and in accordance with instructions in the Handbook.
