Bonython Park Activity Hub
Adelaide City Council in partnership with the State and Australian Government have just completed the first stage of activating Bonython Park through a series of planned improvements, including a new children’s playspace and the soon to be opened SAPOL Road Safety Centre ‘mock roadway’. The first stage of the Activity Hub was launched on Sunday December 16 by Kate Ellis, the Federal Minister for Early Childhood and Member for Adelaide and the Lord Mayor, with hundreds of families from across Adelaide coming to enjoy the new facilities.
Beyond these current works, Council has started engaging with the community to inform the design of the next stage, which includes an adventure playspace.
Throughout September, Council ran an Ideas Competition to see what the community would like to see in that adventure playground. Council received more than 150 entries and are proud to showcase the below winning entrant.
Any other future works will occur if and when funding opportunities are identified.
