Heritage is a means of retaining a record of our past, including places, people, values, traditions, events and experiences which help define who we are and from where we come.

Council is dedicated to the conservation, protection and celebration of Adelaide’s renowned heritage and character for future generations to interpret and enjoy.

Council has proposed a list of 77 local heritage buildings within the city centre. These buildings have been selected by independent experts and then carefully considered by both Council & the State Government. We are currently seeking community comments on the proposed list before it is finalised and provided to the Minister for Planning.
