Incentives Schemes
The City of Adelaide is proud to have many buildings, statues, bridges and spaces identified as heritage places. We also acknowledge the unlisted historic character buildings, which occupy and add value to our city streets.
The Council is focussed on conserving these places in partnership with Federal Government, State Government, tradespeople and owners. These partnerships facilitate the retention of the City’s historic character, encourage appropriate conservation of important buildings, and foster the City’s attraction as a place to live, work, study and visit.
Please explore the two schemes below for more information about Council's funding and partnership opportunities in relation to heritage and historic character buildings.
Heritage Incentives Scheme (HIS)
Council's Heritage Incentives Scheme reimburses owners of heritage and unlisted historic character places with part funding for conservation works which meet specific criteria.
Main Street Building Improvement Scheme (MIS) - NEW SCHEME
Councils Main Street Building Improvement Scheme reimburses owners of unlisted historic character commercial and mixed-use buildings with part funding for façade improvement works which meet specific criteria.
