The Adelaide Park Lands have cultural, environmental and social significance for the people of South Australia and need to be managed in a way that enhances and protects them for future generations.

Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2009-12

The Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2009-2012 will guide how Council will work to achieve an Environmentally Sustainable City through creating 'a climate responsive City', 'a water wise City', 'an ecologically sustainable City and 'a zero waste City'.

Council will prepare an annual action plan which will outline the projects and services to deliver against the Strategy.

Go Green with Energy

The Adelaide City Council Carbon Neutral Council Action Plan 2008–2012

Adelaide City Council’s Go Green with Energy Plan (PDF, 284Kb) has initiated projects that will reduce carbon emissions (CO2e) from Council’s own operations by 60% by 2012 on the road to being carbon neutral by 2020.
