Community Land Management Plans
What are community land management plans?
Adelaide City Council is required under the Local Government Act to prepare Community Land Management Plans (CLMPs) for community land including the Adelaide Park Lands.
Preparation of the CLMPs for the Adelaide Park Lands has involved significant consultation and research. The Plans have been influenced by the landscape character set out in the Park Lands Management Strategy (1999), community input, stakeholder views and cultural landscape assessments.
These assessments were commissioned by Council for each and every park and provide a comprehensive analysis of the elements and features currently found in each park.
Having Community Land Management Plans result in:
● Enhancement and preservation of cultural, recreational and environmental values
● Forward planning for capital works and maintenance
● Better decision making
● Anticipation of future community needs
● Sustainable land uses and management practices
How can you contribute to the Plans?
The most important part of the CLMP process is to ensure that each Plan reflects the needs and desires of the community. The Adelaide Park Lands Act requires these plans to be reviewed every five years, however we welcome any comments from you on the Adelaide Park Lands any time.
