Our Greeters are volunteers who are enthusiastic South Australians, not professional tour guides, who come from all age groups, from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of interests. ‘Greeter’ visits are called ‘orientations’ rather than ‘tours’ due to the nature of our service.
A number of our Greeters also speak two or more languages.
The Adelaide Greeters Service forms part of the Adelaide City Council “Visitor Information Services”, joining the with the City Guides, ‘First Steps’ and ‘Rundle Mall Visitor Information Centre’ Programs.
These programs provide volunteers with an opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills or practice and improve existing skills whilst providing a friendly environment for visitors to our city, and having an enjoyable time doing it.
