Adelaide Metro
Adelaide’s public transport system is run by Adelaide Metro, providing locals and visitors travel options throughout the city and the greater metropolitan area.

Free travel in the city and North Adelaide
For your convenience Adelaide Metro offers free public transport options in the city and North Adelaide.
Free City Connector bus
The free City Connector bus links you to popular city attractions, shopping, dining, education and other services. All buses are wheelchair and pram friendly.
There are two different routes:
- Route 99A and 99C: loop around the CBD, available Monday to Friday.
- Route 98A and 98C: loop around the CBD and North Adelaide, available every day.
The free City Connector bus is a joint initiative of the City of Adelaide and Adelaide Metro.
New App Trial
From Monday 5 February the State Government is trialling a new app on the City Connector which is designed to make the public transport system more accessible.
The app alerts the bus driver about the passenger waiting to board the bus
at an upcoming bus stop
when approaching it.
The app then sends
notifications on the passenger's phone when the bus is approaching both the
pick-up
as well as destination stops.
The app is available to download at the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
Free tram travel zone
The free tram travel zone is between the South Terrace, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Festival Plaza and Botanic Gardens tram stops. View on map
