Reconciliation in the city of Adelaide

Welcome to the Adelaide City Council Reconciliation Web Site.

The City of Adelaide is located on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people and Council acknowledges this through a Kaurna Acknowledgment as the first item of business at each Council meeting.

Adelaide City Council acknowledges that we are meeting on the traditional country of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains.

We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land. We acknowledge that they are of continuing importance to the Kaurna people living today.

Council also acknowledges other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander language groups in the City and works closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to advance reconciliation in the City.
