Adelaide Unplugged
"Adelaide Unplugged: A resource for exploring the City of Adelaide: Trails, Activities and Ideas for Teachers of Secondary Students"
Adelaide Unplugged is Adelaide City Council's popular teaching resource. It was launched in March 2002 and updated in 2004 and contains a total of ten trails for students and teachers to use when they visit the City on excursions.
The resource has been designed to make visiting the City easier and more enjoyable for teachers and students. There are four Orientation Trails - one for each of the City quadrants. Each of the Orientation Trails (which are self-directed) start and finish in Victoria Square and require students to answer a number of clues.
There are six trails on key subject areas covered in the Curriculum Framework - Aboriginal Studies, Architecture, Housing and Planning, Arts and Culture, City Lifestyle, Civics and Citizenship and Heritage.
The resource also contains activities for classroom work before and after the excursion to the City has taken place. All trails are linked to the South Australian Curriculum Standards and Accountability Framework.
Remember to use the City Classroom during your visit to the City.
