Distribution of literature for a commercial purpose is not permitted.

You must submit with your application:
- Certificate of Currency for public liability insurance (Minimum value $10 million)
- Example of literature to be distributed
- List of locations – distribution points (see conditions)
Locations
Distribution of Literature is not permitted without specific permission in these locations;
- Outside significant buildings (eg. Parliament House, Town Hall)
- Rundle Mall and the side streets entering the Mall precinct.
Conditions
- Preaching in the public realm, the distribution of literature or advertising material must not occur in the public domain without an appropriate permit.
- The permit is not valid until the relevant fees have been paid.
- The activity shall be conducted for a single period of no longer than two hours in a day and no more than two people can be grouped at the same location.
- Wednesdays and Fridays are not permitted days for literature distribution or preaching within the City of Adelaide as Wednesdays and Fridays are reserved for collection of monies and Badge Days.
- It is the responsibility of the preacher/distributor to ensure that any form of literature dropped in the area is picked up and the area is left in a neat and tidy condition.
- Preachers/distributors must not harass, harangue, accost or approach any member of the public.
- Preaching and literature distribution is not permitted in the Rundle Mall precinct or the side streets entering/exiting Rundle Mall without specific permission.
- Amplification of sermon/religious address is not permitted anywhere within the precinct of Adelaide City Council.
- Installation, setup or usage of any infrastructure including chairs, boxes etc are not permitted.
- Any complaints received regarding this activity will be addressed by Adelaide City Council and may jeopardize this permit or the issuing of further permits.
- Instructions issued by Council or Police Officers must be obeyed without exception.
- The distributors must carry with them a copy of the permit and show it to Council and/or Police Officers on demand.
- It is illegal to place literature in or on vehicles parked in any street, road or public place, without the consent of the owner or driver of the vehicle.
- No obstruction is to be caused to pedestrian traffic.
- The permitted activity is confined to the immediate vicinity of the permitted location.
- This permit gives permission for the permit holder and is not transferable to any other person or organisation.
- Upon the expiry of this permit, the activity shall cease. If it is desired to continue the activity a new application needs to be lodged with Council and a new permit obtained. A fee may apply for the newly obtained permit.
- The Council reserves the right to revoke this permit at any time.
Failure to comply with any of these conditions could result in the permit being revoked, and jeopardise the issue of future permits.
