Food Safety Workshop

Food poisoning affects 5 million Australians each year, and has the capacity to cripple a food business. Food safety is therefore an integral part of maintaining a successful food business and all people undertaking or supervising food handling need to have skills and knowledge in food safety and hygiene.

This workshop provides information on the requirements for selling food and a number of practical strategies for maintaining the safety of food in your business. All attendees will be issued with a certificate in a nationally accredited unit of training upon successful completion.

Free Child Water Safety DVD

Over the last five years, over 150 Australian children under the age of five have drowned, 50% of which occurred in home swimming pools.

With the help of water safety experts Australia wide, Laurie Lawrence, in conjunction with the Australian Government, has put together a comprehensive water safety DVD for parents and caregivers of children under the age of 5.

Immunisation

Council is committed to protecting you, your family and the community from preventable diseases.

Scheduled childhood and adult vaccinations on the National Immunisation Program are available free of charge at the drop-in immunisation clinic held at Council's South West Community Centre.
