Swimming Pools at Home

There has been a slight increase in the number of cases of Cryptosporidiosis recently reported to the Department of Health and Ageing, a number of which have been associated with public swimming pools. Cryptosporidium is often transmitted via swimming pools, particularly during the summer months, and outbreaks associated with contaminated pools have the potential to infect large numbers of people.

Food safety at home

Even in the home, food poisoning can occur. Food that can potentially make you ill does not have to look, taste or smell differently and so it is important that appropriate food safety practices are followed in the home kitchen to ensure food consumed is safe.
