To hold a March, Parade or Rally.

Eligibility

Anyone is eligible to hold a March, Parade or Rally.

How to Notify Council

It is important that you notify Council of your intentions (at least 5 working days) as your activity may conflict with approved events, road closures, crane operations etc.

When Council are notified, we will forward the notification to the Traffic Planning section of SA Police, who will contact you regarding your proposed route.

Notification of a Street Parade, Rally or March

Costs

There is no charge to conduct the March, Rally or Parade. However charges may apply to the following:

1. The setup of any infrastructure on the footpath may require an “Occupation of Footpath” permit, which attracts a fee and a separate set of conditions.
2. The setup of any infrastructure on the road will require the road to be closed, which may attract a fee and requires specific coordination.
3. The setup of any infrastructure on the Park Lands may require the activity to be passed to Adelaide City Council’s Event Management Department for approval and Park Lands fees may apply.

Parliament House

If the March, Parade or Rally is intended to assemble at Parliament House the applicant must notify the Joint Presiding Officer’s Secretary on (08) 8237 9388.

Torrens Parade Ground

If the March, Parade or Rally is intended to assemble at Torrens Parade Ground the applicant must seek permission from the Tom Parker 8203 9855.
