Hoarding Calculator
Hoardings ensure the public are protected by providing a barrier for the public from the city works site. The decision as to the type of hoarding to use depends on the activity and circumstances of the works.
Solid hoardings are required in beige or a neutral colour and must be kept graffiti free.
Whenever hoardings are used, a clearance of 1.5m must be left for pedestrians to pass the site safely. This means that there must be a clearance of 1.5m from the nearest obstruction to the hoarding line. If this cannot be maintained, then a pedestrian raceway may be an alternative.
For further information about requirements, please see the City Works Guidelines (PDF, 4Mb).
The Hoarding Calculator will allow you to estimate the cost associated with a hoarding that occupies the public realm. Please note that there may be other fees including ticket machine fees, parking alterations, pedestrian raceway fees, etc.
If you would like further information about these fees, please contact the City Works Officer on 8203 7236.
