Parking Control Alteration
Eligibility
Applications will not be considered if request is for private parking in front of their premises or business.
Any person may lodge a Parking Control Alteration Request
Changes to parking will only occur where there is a safety issue, where changes bring existing parking in line with Councils On-Street Parking Strategy or where previous parking needs are obsolete.
How to Apply
The applicant will be required to;
1. Download and complete a Parking Control Alteration Request Form.
2. Contact the Approvals Team.
3. Undertake a canvass* of the area (an Approvals Officer will determine the area and provide you with a survey package**).
4. Return the completed canvass to Council.

Upon receipt of the Parking Control Alteration Request form and the canvass an Approvals Officer will need to assess your request to ensure that it complies with Legislation and Council Policy. They may also need to meet you on-site to discuss your request.
Please note that an application will take at least 3 months before a Council decision is made and the change (if approved) is installed.
* If the change that you are requesting is a safety issue then an Approvals Officer will undertake the canvass.
** A survey package will include a list of those who will need to be canvassed and a survey form that will have to be returned to Council with signatures and contact details.
Conditions
All Parking Control Alteration Requests go through a public consultation process to ensure any changes are in the community interest and to ensure the community is aware of possible changes.
All changes are considered by Council (except in the case of a serious safety issue)
Costs
There is no Charge associated with lodging a Parking Control Alteration Request.
